This class meets Monday and Wednesday from 4-5 PM in Holt 113. The emphasis will be on learning how to improvise through standard chord progressions found in jazz tunes and how to play in a combo setting. Please read the syllabus carefully. This class will have students with a wide range of jazz experience. Please see me about working on more advanced concepts if what we're working on is something you have already mastered. Please keep in mind that saying you know your major scales and being able to play them perfectly at a variety of tempos are two different things.
